Considered by many "the founding father" of espresso
coffee, Hermann Ernest Hausbrandt, my great grandfather,
discovered when he was young, a plant that was to change
his life and the life of his family for generation to come:
the coffee tree.
My family left its first mark on the history of Italian
coffee at the end of the 19th Century setting up one of
the first non profit organization of coffee roasters and
importers in Trieste. In Trieste they began to roast, market
and later export the roasted coffee world wide, contributing
largely to the reputation that Trieste retains still today
in the world as the "espresso coffee capital".
My grandfather Ermanno, fascinated by the "new espresso
extraction system" invented by Mr. Achille Bazzera,
successfully experimented with prototypes of espresso machines
to improve the extraction process and contribute to the
development, introduction and distribution of this revolutionary
equipment.
I want consecrate the name of my company ANTICA TOSTATURA
TRIESTINA and the trademarks of its products to my native
town of Trieste, and to my family, with whom I share the
passion for coffee.
Our products is the result of that passion, the meticulous
processing work and the constant research for excellence
typical of those entrepreneurs who love their industry while
proudly retain ancient traditions.
Today I am grateful to my great grandfather and I'm proud
to continue the tradition Hermann Ernest Hausbrandt passed
on to us. After all, it is thanks to him and the fruits
of his old teachings that our products have achieved success
worldwide.
